Summer snowflake, official name leucojum aestivum, is a flowering plant from the Amaryllidaceae family and used as an active substance in skin care products and in the pharmaceutical industry.
Leucojum aestivum contains the alkaloid galanthamine, which is one of the main active substances and commonly used drug for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD).
